Accommodation for cyclists, huntsmen and anglers in the midst of a „… deliciously wild forest solitude”
With these words Bernhard Heese describes the landscape around the »Rosenwiesche« in 1930.
Embedded in the beautiful flood plains of the river Elbe near Wörlitz is the »Jadghütte» (hunting lodge). This has been reconstructed during the last few months with considerable commitment, energy and creativity and is now available to the guests of the Kulturstiftung DessauWörlitz (KSDW).
Description
The small wooden house sits on piles and is thus protected from the floods of the river Elbe which can be seen flowing past nearby. The wooden interior spreads a warm and homely atmosphere. Another special feature is the green roof. At a dizzy height the hunting lodge is crowned by succulents, sedum and stonecrop.
Furnishings
This hunting lodge is equipped with functional, partly handmade, furniture and sleeps four people. Water is supplied through a pump – drinking water is provided separately. Cosy warmth is radiated by a wood-burning stove; instead of electricity there is a gas cooker and oil lamps – nature and idyll at its purest! Our guest may use the fire and barbecue area right next to the house. Those who like to spend time out in the open and enjoy some peace and quiet, will find our hunting lodge at the »Rosenwiesche« delightful.
Hunting and fishing
The hunting lodge comes complete with 300 hectares (c. 740 acres) of hunting ground, for which you may purchase short-term hunting permits, as well as fishing permits for the Elbe nearby.
